Chancenkarte · Germany's opportunity card

You don't need a job offer to move to Germany.

Germany now lets qualified people come first and find the job here. We take you from "am I eligible?" to your first week in Germany, with a real person beside you the whole way.

  • German company
  • Honest eligibility check first
  • Language training with our partners from day one
What the Chancenkarte is

One year in Germany to find your job. Legally.

A residence visa introduced in 2024 for skilled people from outside the EU. You arrive without an employer, you work part-time while you search, and once you sign a qualified contract you switch to a full work permit without leaving the country.

  1. Before you fly Documents, funds, appointment, visa.

Translations, degree comparison, insurance for the visa period, the blocked account you open in your own name, the embassy appointment. Once the visa is issued, we help you plan your arrival and search for your first accommodation.

  2. Month 0 You land with the card.

With our All-Inclusive package, we meet you at the airport, come with you to register your address, and sort your tax ID and residence permit appointment. The WTE Companion app covers bank account, SIM and liability insurance.

  3. Months 1 to 12 You may work while you search.

Up to 20 hours a week in any job, plus short trial jobs. You interview in person. Employers hire people who are already here.

  4. Contract signed You stay.

Switch to a skilled-worker permit from inside Germany. No flight home, no new application abroad.

2 ways in
A qualification already recognised in Germany, or six points for experience, age, language and shortage occupation.

How we work

We're different. We hold your hand every step of the way.

Most people who try this alone fail on details: a missing stamp, a form filled in the wrong order, an appointment that never came. Most who pay an agent get a form filled in and nothing else. We do it with you, and we do not stop at the visa.

  • One named person. Your coordinator knows your file, answers on WhatsApp, and is the same person from the first call to your first week in Germany.
  • Every document read. We read every document and give you feedback before anything is filed.
  • Language support from day one. If you need German, our partners' courses start before you fly and continue after you land.
  • Someone on the ground. The visa is the middle of the journey, not the end. With All-Inclusive, we are there when you land.

The process

From today to your first weeks in Germany, in eight steps.

One person beside you from the first call to your first week. Keep scrolling to walk through it.

  1. Check if you're eligible

Three minutes, honest answer. If the requirements appear met, leave us your contact details. Start the check

  2. Your first call

Fifteen minutes together. We explain the two ways into the Chancenkarte and what each requires. You decide which applies to you.

  3. You decide

You decide that WTE Companion should support you. Only then does anything start.

  4. Collect documents

We tell you exactly what the embassy asks for. You gather, we read every document and give you feedback, and arrange the translations and the degree comparison.

  5. File

We assemble the application, secure the embassy appointment and prepare you for it. You submit in your own name.

  6. Visa

The embassy decides. Once your visa is issued, we help you plan your arrival and search for your first accommodation.

  7. Land

With All-Inclusive, someone meets you at the airport. Address registration, tax ID and your residence permit appointment, done with our team in your first days.

  8. Integrate

From here the WTE Companion app takes over: bank account, SIM card and liability insurance in a guided conversation, and statutory health insurance once you have a job. Our team stays behind every screen.

Who we are

The people behind your journey.

WTE Companion was built by the team behind Charkos Europe, a recruitment company that has brought skilled workers from outside the EU into German jobs for years. We know the embassy, the authorities and the landlords because we deal with them every week.

Your next step

Find out if the Chancenkarte could work for you.

A free three-minute check against the embassy's own criteria, with an honest answer at the end. If the requirements appear met, you get fifteen minutes with one of us to walk through what comes next. You decide from there.

Questions people ask first

Straight answers.

Is a job guaranteed?

No, and anyone who promises one is lying to you. What we do is get you into Germany legally and settled, so you can search from inside the country. Interviewing in person, with a German address and a German bank account, is a completely different position from applying from abroad. If you want structure for the search, our Job Search programme coaches you through it.

Is the visa guaranteed?

Only the German mission decides. What we control is the file: complete, correct, and submitted by someone who has been prepared for the interview. Roughly five in six Chancenkarte applications are approved. If yours is refused for reasons not caused by you, we refund our fee.

Do I need to speak German?

For the card itself, English at B2 is enough on the points route, and no language certificate is required if your qualification is fully recognised. For life and work in Germany you will need German, and if you do, we support you with language training through our partners from day one. Regulated professions such as nursing require German to practise.

How long does it take?

Preparing the file takes four to eight weeks depending on your documents. Embassy appointments and processing vary by country and season, from a few weeks to several months, and we do not control that part. Plan for three to five months from booking to landing, and we give you a country-specific estimate on the first call.

What is the WTE Companion app, and when do I get it?

The app is for after you land. It walks you through the German essentials in a guided conversation, in English: a bank account with a German IBAN, a SIM card, private liability insurance, and statutory health insurance once you have a job. Each is a real contract with a real partner, in your name. The visa and relocation work before that is done by our team, not by the app.

What happens if my visa is refused?

If it is refused for reasons not caused by you, we refund our fee and keep only the third-party costs already paid. If it is refused because of something you did not tell us, for example a document that is not what you said it was, the fee is not refunded. This is why we check everything before it is filed.

Do I pay you for finding me a job?

Never. If an employer hires you through us, the employer pays. Our Job Search programme is something different: three months of coaching for the applications you send yourself.

What do the services in the app cost?

After you land you use the WTE Companion app for a bank account, a SIM card, liability insurance and, once you have a job, statutory health insurance. Each is a separate contract with the partner, shown to you in full before you sign, at the partner's normal price. The app itself is free.

Can my family come with me?

Every package covers family members at a fixed surcharge: €500 for your partner and €250 for each child. Which permit each family member needs depends on your situation, and we check it with you on the first call.

Do you give legal advice?

No. We prepare, check and coordinate. You apply in your own name. Where a legal question needs a lawyer, we say so and can point you to one.
